Molpír

The Molpír settlement spans across 12 hectares, featuring visible stone walls, earthen ramparts, gates, and three distinct courtyard sections at 354 meters elevation.

The site transformed into a fortified settlement during the late 7th century BC, with three-meter-wide stone gates and wooden structures controlling access between sections.

Archaeological excavations revealed numerous bronze arrowheads, tools, jewelry, and evidence of metalworking, indicating a center for craftsmen and warriors.

Visitors can access the site through the Educational Trail of Smolenický kras, beginning at the church in Smolenice, with information panels throughout the courtyards.

The settlement contains 65 structures, including residential buildings, production facilities, storage spaces, and a large water cistern for collecting rainwater.
