Salvator, Natural mineral spring near Lipovce, Slovakia
Salvator is a natural mineral spring located between Sindliar and Lipovce villages in the Presov district of Slovakia. The water emerges at an elevation of roughly 520 meters and is available for free collection at a public tap.
The spring gained commercial importance in the early 19th century when Count Szakmary started selling water. The Hungarian government established a protection zone around the source in 1880.
The spring water, originally owned by Jewish proprietors, underwent nationalization by the Slovak state in 1942 during a period of historical transformation.
The spring is accessible via a yellow-marked hiking trail that also works as a bicycle path. Access to the water and collection at the tap are free and available at any time.
The water is cold, mildly acidic, and hypotonic with the highest magnesium content of all Slovak mineral waters. This chemical composition makes it sought after by those looking for specific mineral properties.
