Prasat

Prasat is an administrative district in Surin Province, northeastern Thailand, covering multiple sub-districts with numerous rural villages spread across its territory. The area is characterized by agricultural lands, small towns, and local government centers that serve the communities living here.

The district was established in 1938 as a separate administrative unit carved out from Mueang Surin. Over time it developed as a rural region maintaining its role as a local government and trade center for surrounding communities.

The district maintains numerous local markets where residents showcase regional specialties, traditional crafts, and agricultural products from the surrounding communities.

The administrative center is located in Kang Aen and connects to neighboring areas through a road network. Visitors can find local government offices and basic services here.

The area contains archaeological sites and stone structures that document an older settlement history in the region. These remnants reveal how the land was shaped in earlier times.
