Doi Khun Tan National Park

Doi Khun Tan National Park is a mountainous forest reserve between Lamphun and Lampang with pine forests and diverse terrain. The park contains multiple trails and natural areas that change with elevation, from lower bamboo zones to higher woodland regions.

A historic railway tunnel was completed here in 1921 as a major transportation link connecting northern Thailand. This engineering project remains an important element of the park's history and landscape.

Local hill tribe communities near the national park maintain their traditional practices while living in harmony with the natural environment.

The park can be reached via Khun Tan train station, with a walking route leading to the main facilities and lodging options. Visiting during drier months makes trail access easier and more comfortable.

The terrain spans from lower elevations of 350 meters to a peak of 1363 meters, creating separate ecological environments. This significant elevation difference allows visitors to experience multiple vegetation types and wildlife ecosystems in one visit.
