Wat Pa Mok Worawihan, Buddhist temple in Pa Mok, Thailand.
Wat Pa Mok Worawihan is a Thai temple in Pa Mok that houses a 22.5 meter long reclining Buddha statue in a dedicated hall built specifically for this sculpture. The main temple buildings sit about 170 meters from the Chao Phraya River, creating a peaceful setting for visitors to explore.
The temple came about through the merging of two earlier temples called Wat Chi Pakhao and Wat Thalad during the reign of King Thai-Sra. Following this consolidation, a new assembly hall was constructed approximately 170 meters back from the riverbank.
The temple serves as a living place of worship where monks perform daily rituals and meditation following Thai Buddhist customs. Visitors can observe these practices and gain insight into the spiritual routines that shape the community.
The temple sits on the western bank of the Chao Phraya River about 15 kilometers south of Ang Thong town with parking areas near the entrance. Pathways throughout the site are level and easy to walk, making the grounds accessible to most visitors.
The temple features a covered walkway connecting the main grounds to a boat pier on the Chao Phraya River, allowing visitors to arrive by water. This water-based approach provides a distinctive way to experience the site compared to land access.
