Tham Pla - Namtok Pha Suea National Park, National park in Mae Hong Son Province, Thailand

Tham Pla - Namtok Pha Suea National Park is a protected area in mountainous Mae Hong Son Province featuring steep peaks, dense forests, and numerous limestone caves. The park offers multiple hiking trails, observation points, and natural swimming spots for visitors to explore.

The Department of National Parks officially designated this area as a national park on December 23, 2009, establishing protections for its natural resources. This designation made it one of Thailand's newer protected areas at the time.

The Tham Pla cave holds sacred significance with hundreds of mahseer barb fish inhabiting its waters alongside a Hindu statue. Local people visit this spot with reverence, creating a blend of spiritual practice and natural wonder.

The main entrance is located roughly 18 kilometers from Mae Hong Son town and is easy to reach. Wear sturdy footwear since the trails are uneven with constant elevation changes throughout.

The park contains Doi Lan peak reaching about 1,900 meters elevation where two distinct forest types meet visibly. Tropical evergreen forests give way to mixed deciduous woodlands at this summit, creating a clear ecological boundary.
