Wat Khao Suwanna Khiri

Wat Khao Suwanna Khiri comprises temple ruins perched on a hill within Si Satchanalai Historical Park, surrounded by forest and ancient site remnants. The remains display stone foundations, standing columns, and partially intact stupas that outline the spatial design of a medieval Buddhist sanctuary.

This temple was constructed during the Sukhothai period between the 13th and 15th centuries as part of an important regional religious center. The surrounding city later declined, but the site remained a key record of the architectural development characteristic of that era.

The name translates to 'Mountain of Golden Radiance' and reflects the sacred purpose this location held for worshippers. Visitors can still see traces of ritual spaces and votive offerings that show how people gathered here to practice their faith.

This site is located within a larger historical park with marked pathways and is most accessible during cooler months. Visitors should bring sturdy footwear and water since the hill is steep and shaded areas are limited on the grounds.

Archaeological findings reveal that local craftsmen blended external building styles with traditional construction methods to create a distinctive local architecture. This fusion of influences makes the site a rare example of cultural exchange during that era.
