Kaeng Krachan Circuit, Motorsports venue (race track) in Phetchaburi Province, Thailand
Kaeng Krachan Circuit is a motorsport racing track located near Kaeng Krachan National Park in Phetchaburi province. The facility offers multiple track layouts including a full-length circuit, a medium version, and a short track, each designed to provide different challenges for drivers and riders of varying skill levels.
The circuit was founded by two racers, Somchai Srijirarat and Ekprawat Petcharak, who sought to create a new motorsport venue. After selecting the site in 2008, construction was completed in less than ten months, and the track opened in 2009 with its inaugural events.
The circuit serves as a gathering place for motorsport enthusiasts from across Thailand who come together on weekends to watch races and celebrate their shared passion. Family-friendly events often include food stalls, music, and displays of cars and motorcycles that reflect the sport's role in the local community.
The circuit is approximately three hours from Bangkok and is reached via Highway 35 and Highway 4 heading south. Parking is available on-site, and accommodations can be found nearby, with weekends featuring races offering the best times to visit.
The track was constructed in a valley with significant elevation changes and curves that make driving challenging while offering spectators views from multiple vantage points around the circuit. The surrounding hills, forests, and natural landscape create a peaceful setting that distinguishes it from typical purpose-built racing facilities.
