Wat Phra That Chom Sak

Wat Phra That Chom Sak features a gilded complex overlooking extensive rice fields within an oval-shaped compound in the Chiang Rai province.

The temple existed before the establishment of the Ngoenyang Kingdom in 638 and contributed to the formation of the Lanna Kingdom in 1292.

Senior monks known as Krubas hold a central role in the temple's traditions, with gilded statues commemorating their spiritual leadership and teachings.

Visitors can reach the temple by taking the bypass road west of Chiang Rai and following the northeast direction toward Ban Du district.

The temple houses numerous cats within its grounds, creating an environment where felines roam freely among the Buddhist structures.
