HMS Minstrel

HMS Minstrel is a naval museum ship in Chanthaburi that visitors can board to explore its decks. The vessel displays original equipment, weapons systems, and exhibits explaining how minesweepers operated during wartime.

The minesweeper was built in Toronto in 1944 and initially served with the Royal Navy. Thailand received the vessel in 1947 and repurposed it as a training platform for naval cadets.

The vessel participated in the 1953 sea review celebration for Queen Elizabeth II coronation while operating as a training ship for Thai naval cadets.

Visitors can access multiple decks and explore the ship's various compartments at their own pace. Wear comfortable shoes as navigation involves climbing stairs and moving through narrow passages throughout the vessel.

The vessel underwent several transformations throughout its service life, changing from a wartime minesweeper to a cadet training platform and finally a museum.
