Wat Phai Rong Wua

Wat Phai Rong Wua is a Buddhist temple in Bang Ta Then containing multiple buildings and religious structures spread across the grounds. A large seated Buddha statue stands within the complex, surrounded by smaller monuments and shrines throughout the site.

A monk named Luang Phor Khom began transforming this rural temple into a major religious site starting in 1936. His extensive building projects over the following decades shaped the complex into what visitors see today.

The painted walls inside the temple show scenes from Buddha's life, and you will notice how the complex blends influences from different religious traditions in its decoration and layout.

The temple sits about an hour from Bangkok and welcomes visitors throughout the day with free access. Parking is available on the grounds, making it convenient for travelers to stop and explore.

Within the temple grounds stands an educational garden filled with painted figures and sculptures depicting different forms of punishment according to Buddhist teachings. This unusual section serves as a learning space where visitors can understand Buddhist moral concepts in a visual way.
