The Istanbul Archaeology Museums consist of three museums: the Archaeological Museum, the Ancient Orient Museum and the Tiled Kiosk Museum.
Founded by Osman Hamdi Bey in 1891, it's considered as one of the world's most important archaeological museums.
It houses over a million objects that represent almost all of the eras and civilizations in world history.
Located in the Eminönü district of Istanbul, near Gülhane Park and Topkapı Palace.
The museum holds the Sarcophagus of Alexander the Great, one of the few surviving examples of painted Greek sculpture.
