İşbank Museum

The İşbank Museum occupies a three-story building that houses original teller desks, archive rooms, and exhibition spaces with banking objects from different historical periods. The layout and furnishings preserve the arrangement of a working bank branch from the past.

The building was originally constructed in 1892 as a post office and converted to a bank branch in 1917. In 1927 İşbank took over the site as its Istanbul office and operated there for many decades.

The museum tells the story of Turkey's financial development through photographs and artifacts that show how banking shaped modern life in the country. Visitors can see how money and commerce became central to daily experience.

The museum sits in a historic neighborhood and is easy to reach on foot. Visitors should allow time to explore, as the exhibition spans multiple rooms and includes information to read through.

The museum preserves original security vaults and banking equipment from the early 20th century that reveal how security and financial technology evolved. Visitors can observe how primitive mechanical systems operated.
