The Turkish government established Yedigöller National Park in 1965, designating 1,623 hectares of land for environmental protection and public recreation.
The name Yedigöller translates to Seven Lakes in Turkish, with each water body receiving its own name: Büyükgöl, Deringöl, Seringöl, Nazlıgöl, Sazlıgöl, Incegöl, and Küçükgöl.
Visitors can access the park via the Yenicaga road, located 152 kilometers from the Ankara-Istanbul highway, with options for camping and bungalow accommodations.
Scientists have discovered new species of Ephemeroptera insects within the park, including Ecdyonurus starmachi and Paraleptophlebia cincta.
