Çanakkale Martyrs' Memorial, War memorial in Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey.
The memorial consists of four square columns measuring 7.5 meters wide each, rising 41.7 meters high above Morto Bay on Hisarlik Hill.
The monument commemorates 253,000 Turkish soldiers who defended the Gallipoli Peninsula during World War I between April and December 1915.
The memorial contains inscriptions from the Turkish national anthem and serves as a central location for annual commemorative ceremonies in Turkey.
Visitors can explore the museum beneath the monument, which displays artifacts, photographs, and personal items recovered from the battlefield.
The Turkish army maintains no 57th Regiment today, permanently retiring this unit number to honor the soldiers who perished in the campaign.
