Shifen waterfall, Waterfall in Pingxi District, New Taipei City, Taiwan
Water cascades down a 20-meter-high and 40-meter-wide rock formation, making it the largest waterfall by volume in Taiwan.
The name originates from ten families who settled in the area and requested equal portions of supplies for their community.
Local residents compare the waterfall's appearance during dry seasons to different intensities, reflecting Taiwanese humor about natural phenomena.
The waterfall park opens daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM in summer and 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM during other seasons.
Multiple viewing platforms at different elevations allow visitors to observe the falls from the south side of Keelung River.
