Glasses Hole Waterfall, Natural cascade in Pingxi District, Taiwan
The waterfall drops 20 meters in height and extends 40 meters across, creating substantial mist patterns visible from multiple observation points.
The waterfall gained recognition in the 1950s when the development of Taiwan's railway system made the location accessible to visitors from Taipei.
Local families maintain traditions of visiting the waterfall during festivals, sharing meals and setting paper lanterns afloat in the surrounding area.
Visitors reach the waterfall through a 20-minute walk from Shifen Railway Station, with clear signs marking the path through the forest.
The cascade earned its name from a smaller adjacent waterfall that forms a shape similar to eyeglasses when viewed from specific angles.
