平溪臺陽鑛業鑛長宿舍

The former Taiyang Mining Company dormitory features wooden construction elements and traditional Taiwanese architectural details throughout its structure.

Built in 1938, this residence served as accommodation for mining supervisors during the period when mineral extraction shaped the economic development of Taiwan.

The building represents the social structure of mining communities, where supervisors lived in dedicated quarters separate from regular workers.

Visitors can reach the historic building by taking a train to Pingxi station and following the marked walking paths through the former mining district.

The structure contains original architectural elements from 1938, including specific wooden features that demonstrate the fusion of Japanese and Taiwanese building methods.
