Shenkeng District

Shenkeng District is an administrative area in New Taipei that covers eight village neighborhoods spread across mountainous and residential terrain. The landscape combines hillsides with houses and shops clustered in several distinct communities.

The name comes from historical coal mining operations that shaped the area and gave it its designation relating to deep excavations. This mining activity was central to the region's economy for many decades.

Getting around the area is easy with bus connections from Muzha Station that reach different parts of the district. Bike rental stations at various locations let you explore the neighborhoods and surrounding trails on two wheels.
