Asia University, Private university in Taichung, Taiwan
Asia University is a private university in Wufeng, a suburban district of Taichung in western Taiwan. The institution divides into faculties for health sciences, information technology, business, social sciences, and creative design programs, spread across several buildings on the campus grounds.
The institution was founded in 2001 as Taichung Health and Management College, initially offering programs focused on health and administration. In 2005, the Ministry of Education granted authorization to rename it Asia University, expanding the academic offerings.
The campus houses the Asia Museum of Modern Art, whose triangular concrete architecture designed by Tadao Ando regularly hosts contemporary art exhibitions. Students and visitors use the museum building both for cultural events and as a meeting point between academic facilities.
The campus is located in Wufeng District on the southeastern edge of Taichung and can be reached by public transport or car. Visitors can explore the art museum and selected public areas, while academic buildings are mostly accessible only to enrolled students.
The art museum on campus is one of the few buildings by Japanese architect Tadao Ando in Taiwan and uses natural light through triangular skylights. The museum building serves both as a public exhibition space and as a teaching tool for architecture and design students at the institution.
