Dapingding Tropical Botanical Garden

Dapingding Tropical Botanical Garden is a 9.6-hectare space with hills, lowlands, and plateaus where tropical plants grow in different zones. The grounds combine natural elevation changes with wooden pathways and viewing platforms to display a wide variety of tropical species.

The garden was founded as part of Taiwan's effort to protect the botanical diversity of Kaohsiung. It grew into an important site for research and conservation of tropical plant species in the region.

The garden is named after a local legend and reflects the region's connection to its natural surroundings. Visitors walk through paths that cross different habitats, showing how tropical plants thrive in their native zones.

The garden is easily reached by Kaohsiung MRT at Siaogang Station and has parking and rest areas. Informational signs along the paths help visitors understand the different plant zones and habitats.

The bridges and observation decks are designed so visitors see plants from different heights, offering a fresh view of ecosystems. This perspective reveals how the plant life shifts as you climb higher.
