Huashan 1914 Creative Park, Arts center in Zhongzheng District, Taipei, Taiwan.
Huashan 1914 Creative Park is an arts center housed in former industrial buildings that retain their original architectural character from its winery days. The complex spreads across multiple interconnected structures containing galleries, performance spaces, and open courtyards.
The site began in 1914 as Taihoku Winery under Japanese rule, producing sake and ginseng-infused wines in its early years. It later shifted to rice wine production before facing demolition in the 1990s.
The space hosts rotating art exhibitions, live performances, and creative markets that showcase both established and emerging Taiwanese artists. Visitors encounter works spanning painting, sculpture, photography, and contemporary media throughout the interconnected buildings.
The park is easily accessible via Zhongxiao Xinsheng Metro Station with numerous cafes, restaurants, and shops scattered throughout the grounds. Plan time to wander the interconnected buildings and outdoor areas at your own pace.
Local artists rescued this site from demolition in 1997 through community action, transforming it into the creative space it is today. This grassroots art activism remains embedded in how the place operates and develops.
