Penghu Sanguan Temple, Chinese temple in Yangming Village, Taiwan
Penghu Sanguan Temple is a Chinese temple located in Yangming Village on Penghu Island. The structure features elaborate decorative elements including dragon carvings, glazed ceramic tiles, and traditional floral patterns adorning the exterior and interior spaces.
The temple was founded in 1696 by military official Xue Kui during the Qing dynasty period. The building underwent several renovations over the centuries to preserve and maintain its structural integrity.
The temple serves as a place of worship for Guanyin, the Buddhist goddess of compassion, and Long-Wang, the Taoist sea god who protects seafarers. Local people come here to pray and make offerings to both deities as part of their spiritual practice.
The temple is open throughout the year without access restrictions for visitors. You can visit at any time to explore the building and its interior spaces.
Between April and June, the temple becomes a gathering place for thousands of visitors during an annual fireworks festival celebration. The event draws people from across the region to participate in the festivities.
