Dragobrat, Mountain summit in Rakhiv Raion, Ukraine.
Dragobrat is a mountain summit in the Svydovets massif of the Ukrainian Carpathians, standing at 1,763 meters. The peak sits in the eastern section of this mountain range and provides expansive views across the surrounding ridges and valleys.
The name comes from traditional forest clearing practices that shaped the surrounding landscape over many centuries. These activities reflect how local communities historically used the mountain's resources.
Local inhabitants maintain traditional mountain practices, including seasonal grazing patterns and preservation of native plant species listed in Ukraine's Red Book.
Reaching the summit requires sturdy vehicles to navigate unpaved roads from Yasinya village, especially during wetter seasons. Visitors should be well-equipped and prepared, as weather conditions can change rapidly in the mountains.
From this peak you can see two of Ukraine's highest mountains on the same day: Hoverla and Petros. This perspective makes it a special viewing point within the entire range.
