Obavsky Stone

Obavsky Stone is a mountain summit in Mukachevo Raion rising 979 meters, covered by dense forests of oak, beech, and hornbeam trees across its slopes. The peak features a rocky formation about 80 meters high that stands out from the surrounding woodland.

The mountain formed through natural geological processes spanning thousands of years as part of the Ukrainian Carpathian range. This slow shaping of rock and soil created the distinctive peak that stands today.

The mountain's name carries meaning across multiple languages, reflecting the region's diverse history and connections. Local guides and visitors alike use different versions of the name, showing how many peoples have crossed through this part of the Carpathians.

You can reach this summit using white-marked trails starting from the Trout tourist base, which wind along the Synyavka River valley. The paths are established routes that guide you through the forest and up to the peak.

On clear days, the rocky formations at the peak offer views across multiple valleys including the Equal valley and the Latorytsia River far below. This vantage point lets you see neighboring peaks and understand how these mountains connect across the landscape.
