Saint Nicholas Monastery is an Eastern Orthodox religious community located on Chernecha Hora hill in Mukachevo, centered around a cathedral church built in Classicist style between 1798 and 1804. The monastery was founded in the late 11th century and became the seat of the Eastern Orthodox Bishop of Mukachevo by 1491, overseeing religious affairs across the entire region. Following Soviet decrees in 1946, the original monks departed, and the complex was subsequently transformed into a convent for nuns.
