Biriukove is an urban-type settlement in eastern Ukraine's Luhansk region. It sits near the Kundryuchya river in gently rolling terrain and features residential buildings typical of Ukrainian settlements.
The settlement was established in 1778 by serfs from neighboring villages. It was renamed in 1921 to commemorate a murdered council leader.
The settlement contains the Church of St. Mitrophan, which maintains connections with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church under Moscow Patriarchate jurisdiction.
The nearest railway station is about 12 kilometers away and provides the main transportation link for visitors. The settlement itself is best explored on foot or by local transport.
Archaeological excavations in the area have uncovered Bronze Age burial mounds. These ancient sites reveal that the region has been inhabited for thousands of years.
