Monument to railwaymen

The Monument to Railwaymen features a restored steam locomotive of the L-class mounted on railroad tracks above a concrete base. Iron chains encircle the installation, emphasizing its character as a memorial.

The locomotive dates to 1945 and operated on the Morozovskaya-Likhaya route until the 1970s. The memorial itself was dedicated in 1986 to honor workers of the Likhaya Railway Division.

The monument honors railroad workers who kept transportation networks running through demanding periods in the region's history. Their labor shaped the industrial identity of the area and remains visible to those who visit today.

The memorial is located in the Park of Railwaymen near the Community Center and is easily accessible on foot. Daytime visits work best for viewing the locomotive details and surrounding area clearly.

The locomotive L-0002 was built at Kolomna Locomotive Works, a legendary factory that produced thousands of machines for the Soviet railroad network. It stands as one of the few preserved examples of this type of equipment in the region.
