Каменский автогужевой мост, Steel bridge in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, Russia.
The Kamenske vehicle bridge is a steel structure crossing the Seversky Donets River and connecting the city center with adjacent districts. The modern design features a vertical lift mechanism that allows the roadway to be raised when larger vessels need to pass underneath.
The original structure was built in 1871 as a railway crossing and stood for nearly 150 years. It was destroyed in 1942, rebuilt in 1943, and later replaced by the current bridge during the 2010s.
The bridge carries the Kamenske name from its role connecting the city center with surrounding areas in daily life. Today it serves as an ordinary crossing that residents and visitors use to move between the two riverbanks.
The bridge accommodates both vehicles and pedestrians with clear access points on both sides. The vertical lift mechanism may be activated when ships pass, so occasional delays during shipping activity should be anticipated.
The structure was inaugurated with a time capsule ritual containing messages from residents for future generations. The capsule is meant to be opened after 50 years, reflecting the community's confidence in this crossing's longevity.
