St. Nicholas' Church

St. Nicholas' Church stands with five domes and a bell tower, displaying traditional Orthodox architectural elements in the heart of Shakhty.

Local residents of the Ayutinsky settlement initiated the construction of this religious edifice in 1902, which received official parish status from Tsar Nicholas II in 1903.

The church functions as an active Eastern Orthodox religious center under the Patriarchate of Moscow, maintaining regular services and ceremonies for the local population.

During the post-revolution period, this religious building temporarily served as a country club before returning to its original function in 1991.
