The Monument to Alexander II is a bronze statue in Shakhty mounted on a dark granite pedestal in front of the Institute of Service and Entrepreneurship. The figure features golden inscriptions that provide historical details about the emperor and his reign.

Emperor Alexander II abolished serfdom in Russia in 1861 and initiated significant military reforms during his reign. The monument was unveiled in 2015 to honor his legacy as a reformer.

The memorial features inscriptions in gold letters identifying Alexander II as Tsar the Liberator, along with detailed biographical information about his governmental achievements.

The monument is located on the grounds of Don State Technological Institute and is publicly accessible. Visitors can view it at any time since it stands in an open campus area.

The monument was funded entirely through private donations from the community rather than state resources. At its 2015 opening, a direct descendant of the imperial family, Pavel Eduardovich Kulikovsky-Romanov, conducted the dedication ceremony.
