The National Museum of Natural History displays 30,000 specimens across 24 halls, covering geology, paleontology, zoology, botany, and archaeology in an 8,000-square-meter space.
Established in 1966 in a neoclassical building that previously housed the Olgynska School, the institution received national museum status from Ukraine's president in 1996.
The museum maintains two scientific journals, contributing to natural science research while displaying the material culture of ancient tribes and peoples of Ukraine.
The museum opens Wednesday through Friday from 10:00 to 17:00 and weekends from 11:00 to 18:00, located at 15 Bohdan Khmelnitsky Street in central Kyiv.
The museum features 30 landscape dioramas depicting natural environments, including a collection of 300-million-year-old club mosses and a complete sea cow skeleton.
