Катеринославська суконна фабрика, Industrial textile factory in Dnipro, Ukraine
The Yekaterinoslav Cloth Factory features a central building adorned with a ten-column Greek Doric portico connecting two floors in classical Russian architecture.
Construction of the factory began in the late 18th century under the direction of Field Marshal Prince Potemkin, employing thousands of textile workers.
The factory produced fabrics of various shades, with its textiles being so high in quality that they were used for imperial uniforms.
The facility operated until 1837, after which the buildings were repurposed for railroad administration offices and provision warehouses.
Workers from Moscow region, Belarus, and Lithuania relocated to the factory, establishing additional wool processing facilities near the Mokra Sura river.
