Katranka is a beach resort on the Black Sea coast in Odesa Oblast, stretching across roughly one kilometer of shoreline. The location sits between two neighboring lakes and features wide sandy beaches suitable for swimming and relaxation.

The village began as a small fishing settlement and grew into a popular summer destination during the late Soviet era. This transformation drew visitors from the surrounding region and shaped its character through the decades.

Local fishermen maintain traditional fishing methods, particularly for catching carp in the surrounding lakes throughout the summer season.

Visitors will find accommodation in guest houses and holiday camps throughout the area, with the best time to visit falling between mid-July and late August. The wide beach allows for pleasant walking and exploring even outside peak season.

The position between two lakes creates a special microclimate that supports diverse bird species and aquatic life year-round. This setup makes the location interesting for nature observers and wildlife photographers.
