Pavlivka, Village settlement in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine.
Pavlivka is a village in Donetsk Oblast in eastern Ukraine situated along the Kashlahach River. The settlement is part of the Vuhledar urban hromada administrative territory and comprises a traditional rural community in the region.
The settlement was founded in the 1830s when Cossack settlers from Poltava, Chernihiv, and Kharkiv Governorates established communities here. These early inhabitants shaped the village as a rural farming area in the region.
The 2001 census revealed that 85.51 percent of residents spoke Ukrainian while 13.97 percent used Russian as their primary language of communication.
The village is located roughly 18 miles (29 kilometers) northwest of Volnovakha and approximately 32 miles (51 kilometers) southwest of Donetsk. Access to the area is provided through the T-0509 Highway.
During November 2022, the village gained strategic importance as a focal point of military operations, experiencing multiple territorial changes between opposing forces.
