Volnovakha Raion

Volnovakha Raion is an administrative region in southeastern Ukraine spanning multiple territorial communities. The region connects several villages and settlements with Volnovakha city serving as its administrative center.

The region underwent significant administrative restructuring in 2020 when several smaller districts were merged together. This reform created its current structure as one of eight administrative districts in Donetsk Oblast.

The region is home to people of various backgrounds, including Ukrainians, Russians, Greeks, and other communities who shape daily life together. This diversity is reflected in the villages and how people coexist here.

The steppe landscape holds numerous Bronze Age archaeological sites containing remains of ancient settlements. These ancient traces reveal that the land has been inhabited for thousands of years.
