Пам'ятник закоханим

The memorial features two human figures in an embracing pose that creates an archway, with a fountain flowing beneath them at its base. The structure sits within the central area of Architects Square, positioned where multiple pathways converge.

The monument came about through a design competition held in 2002 that invited architectural students to submit concepts. The winning proposal by Dmitry Ivanchenko from Kharkiv was selected and subsequently constructed in the square.

The site has become a popular spot for couples and wedding parties to visit, drawn by the symbolism of the two embracing figures. Many visitors perform personal gestures near the fountain as an expression of commitment or affection.

The monument is located roughly 30 meters from Architect Beketov metro station, making it easy to reach on foot. Several bus routes stop nearby, and the plaza is freely accessible during daytime hours.

In 2009 the structure received a coating of gold paint that makes it stand out distinctly in the urban landscape. Miniature replicas of seven notable Kharkiv buildings are placed around the base, a detail many visitors do not notice.
