Kharkiv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre M. V. Lysenka

Kharkiv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre M. V. Lysenka is an opera house with two performance halls in a modern architectural style. One hall seats around 1,500 people while the smaller hall accommodates around 400.

The building was founded in 1925 as a Ukrainian state opera house and grew into a leading cultural institution. In 1960 it received the Order of the Red Banner of Labour, recognizing its artistic contributions.
