Sverdlove

Sverdlove is an urban-type settlement in Donetsk Oblast in eastern Ukraine, situated within Makiivka Hromada's administrative boundaries. The settlement sits at approximately 232 meters above sea level in this region.

The settlement gained its urban-type classification in 1925 following a Soviet decree that established new categories for population centers. This official status marked an important recognition of its administrative role in the region.

The settlement carries multiple names across languages, reflecting its layered past. This linguistic variety shows the different cultural influences that have shaped the region.

The area experiences a continental climate with distinct seasons and varying weather patterns. Visitors should come prepared for changing conditions and pack appropriate clothing for the season.

In June 2020, the settlement underwent administrative reorganization when it transferred from Makiivka City Council governance to Makiivka Hromada. This shift was part of a broader decentralization reform initiative in Ukraine.
