Vil'khivs'ke Vodoskhovyshche, zbiornik retencyjny (obwód doniecki, Ukraina)
Vil'khivs'ke Vodoskhovyshche is a reservoir in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine, built on the Vilkhova River, a tributary of the Krinka. The water body stretches approximately 6 kilometers and has a shoreline of about 18 kilometers, with the Zuyivsky regional park located along its banks and rocky cliffs nearby.
The reservoir was built as an artificial water body to supply surrounding regions and served industries, mines, and drinking water needs for generations. After 2014 and especially since 2022, the infrastructure suffered severe damage, resulting in dramatic water level declines and depletion.
The site is located near the town of Zuyivka and connects with the Zuyivsky regional park, making visits possible. Water levels and site conditions can vary, so checking current conditions before visiting is advisable.
The area around the reservoir is known for its high rock formations called the Zuyivski cliffs, a popular climbing spot for people of all levels. These rock formations are part of the Donetsk Ridge and offer climbing opportunities for both beginners and experienced climbers.
