Sieverne, Settlement in Snizhne Hromada, Ukraine.
Sieverne is an urban-type settlement in eastern Ukraine located in Donetsk Oblast. It sits at an elevation of about 295 meters and contains residential areas spread across the community.
The settlement received its urban-type classification during the Soviet period when such categories were created. A designation system established in 1925 helped distinguish communities between rural villages and cities.
According to the 2001 census, the settlement population of 9,832 residents primarily communicates in Russian at 80.58 percent, with Ukrainian speakers at 19.09 percent.
The area is best explored on foot, with local streets generally passable for walking. Visitors should know that infrastructure here is typical of a smaller eastern European community.
In October 2023, new legislation transformed this urban-type settlement into a regular settlement. The change was part of broader administrative reforms signed by the nation's leadership.
