Shchotove

Shchotove is an urban-type settlement in eastern Ukraine within Luhansk Oblast, positioned between industrial facilities and farming areas. The location sits at an elevation of approximately 312 meters and blends rural and industrial characteristics in its layout.

The settlement was founded in 1783 and grew over the centuries as part of eastern Ukraine's regional development. In 2023 it lost its Soviet-era urban-type settlement status through national administrative reforms.

The population of 3,535 residents communicates predominantly in Russian at 82%, while Ukrainian speakers represent 13% and Romanian speakers constitute 3% of inhabitants.
