Sukhyi Stavok, village in Velyka Oleksandrivka Raion (district), Kherson Oblast (province), Ukraine
Sukhyi Stavok is a small village in Ukraine, located in the Kalynivske community within Beryslav district. It features simple houses with narrow streets, small yards with gardens, and nearby farms where residents grow vegetables and keep animals. The land is mostly flat with gentle rises and open fields spreading on all sides.
The village was established in 1898 during a period of increased agricultural development in the region. In 2020, it became part of the Kalynivske community and later the Beryslav district following national administrative reforms.
The village's name reflects its dry, flat landscape where farming has always been central to life. Residents gather for communal events and harvest celebrations, maintaining traditional ways of working together on busy days and sharing news at the small local shops.
The village sits on the right bank of the Dnipro River and is about 67 kilometers from the town of Kherson. Roads connect it to nearby towns where visitors can obtain supplies or explore the surrounding area.
The sculptor Petro Yurchenko was born in this village and went on to create notable artworks recognized beyond the local area. This demonstrates how individuals of cultural significance could emerge from such small, remote places.
