Atlantida

Atlantida is a cave network in Khmelnytskyi Oblast with multiple underground passages organized across different levels. The system contains various chambers and passageways, offering visitors a range of spaces to explore during a guided visit.

Kyiv speleologists discovered the system in 1969 while investigating openings created by gypsum quarrying activities in the region. This discovery led to further scientific exploration of the underground landscape in this part of Ukraine.

The main halls are named after Kyiv speleologists who first explored the system, marking its importance in Ukrainian underground research. These names connect the local discovery to the wider scientific community interested in cave exploration.

Visitors should arrange guided tours through the Khmelnytskyi Speleo Club and wear appropriate clothing for the cool underground environment. A reasonable level of fitness is helpful since exploring involves navigating uneven ground and narrow passages.

The system features notable gypsum crystal formations that have developed on the chamber walls and ceilings, creating natural mineral displays. These crystalline structures are unusually large for their type and make the site particularly interesting among other Ukrainian caves.
