Ольховское водохранилище, Stausee in der Ukraine
Ольховское водохранилище is an artificial lake in Kharkiv Oblast built on the Rohantsya River to manage water resources for the region. The body of water spans roughly 1 square kilometer with average depths near 3 meters, maintained by a dam approximately 300 meters long that controls water levels.
The reservoir was created in 1972 as part of a regional infrastructure project designed to support agricultural irrigation and establish fishing resources. Since its construction, it has served local communities as an essential water storage facility and recreational area.
The shoreline features easily accessible paths surrounded by trees and grass, making it pleasant for walking or fishing. Roads leading to the site are paved and remain passable in various weather conditions.
The area near the reservoir is known among rock climbers for natural rock formations called the 'Zuevsky skalodom', a climbing training site that attracts both local and regional climbers. This unexpected feature allows visitors to observe adventurous athletes using the natural landscape for outdoor sports training.
