Borys Hrinchenko Kyiv University, University in Ukraine
Borys Hrinchenko Kyiv University is a higher education institution in Ukraine's capital featuring six institutes and multiple faculties covering journalism, arts, health, information technology, law, and international relations. The campus contains over 80 specialized classrooms with modern technology, language and computer labs, sports facilities with pools and gyms, and an extensive library collection.
The university grew from reorganizing a local teacher training institute into a comprehensive higher education institution offering expanded programs and degrees. In January 2024, it merged with the Kyiv Academy of Arts, significantly broadening its academic focus and course offerings.
The university is named after Borys Hrinchenko, a Ukrainian educator and writer. Throughout the year, students and staff gather for celebrations that honor Ukrainian culture, wearing traditional clothing on Flag Day and Independence Day to mark these occasions.
The main campus sits in a busy urban area with many cafes and shops nearby, giving students easy access to daily conveniences. Student dormitories offer simple but comfortable rooms with shared kitchens and common areas; living costs remain affordable.
The institution operates on the principle of servant leadership, an approach where leaders focus on supporting others' growth rather than concentrating power. This concept shapes daily interactions between staff, students, and faculty, creating a community culture built on mutual support and responsibility.
