Museum of Musical Instruments and Hutsuls Lifestyle

The Museum of Musical Instruments and Hutsuls Lifestyle contains traditional instruments, costumes, and everyday objects from the Hutsul community of the Carpathian Mountains.

Founded on January 7, 2000, by Roman Kumlyk, the museum gathered its collection over three decades to document the traditions of Hutsul mountain people.

The collection features numerous musical instruments including trembitas, horns, violins, and cymbals, which were essential for communication and celebrations in Hutsul society.

Located at 35 Ivan Franko Street in Verkhovyna, the museum offers guided tours with demonstrations of traditional musical instruments and explanations of Hutsul customs.

The museum displays traditional Hutsul wooden instruments, including rectangular violins and hollow violins, which represent specific regional instrument-making techniques.
