Church of John the Baptist, Classicist Catholic church in Bila Tserkva, Ukraine
The Church of John the Baptist stands on Castle Hill with a Latin cross layout and features ornamental moldings with intricate openwork rosettes on its walls.
Count Ksaveriy Branytskyi commissioned the construction of this church between 1812 and 1813 in memory of his son Oleksandr who died during childhood.
The church interior displays monumental paintings by unknown masters and a white marble stele commemorating Kateryna Branitska-Sanhushko on one of its walls.
The church functions as an organ and chamber music hall with 300 seats, operating daily from 10:00 with extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays.
A Rieger-Kloss organ from Czech Republic was installed in 1990, transforming this religious building into a concert venue for classical music performances.
