Space Research and Communication Center, مقراب راديوي في أوكرانيا
The Space Research and Communication Center is a ground station and radio telescope facility in Zolochiv Raion, Ukraine. It operates two dish antennas of different sizes that receive radio signals from space and maintain communication with orbiting satellites.
The station was built during the Soviet era and originally used to track spacecraft and satellites. After Ukrainian independence, it was integrated into the national space program and gradually updated for scientific research.
The center sits in a rural area away from urban infrastructure, so a private vehicle is the most practical way to reach it. Since this is an active research facility, it is worth contacting the site in advance to check whether access is possible for visitors.
The facility has developed automatic correction software that improves the pointing accuracy of its antennas when tracking satellites. This allows the station to pick up weaker signals from space more reliably than before.
