Korsun Castle, Burg in der Ukraine
Korsun Castle is a fortress in the town of Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi along the Ros River, featuring large stone walls and structures that reflect centuries of conflict and settlement. The fortress was founded in 1032 by Grand Prince Yaroslav the Wise as a defense stronghold and served as an important military center in early Ukrainian history. It witnessed fighting during the Cossack-Polish conflicts and the major 1648 battle before becoming part of the Russian Empire in 1793, shaping its role as a site of resistance across centuries.
